Nour Chaabane
Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner
Trained at the Liang Shen Institute and pursuing continuing education with Chengdu University (China), I practise Traditional Chinese Medicine in Geneva and Veyrier.
Acupuncture and moxibustion are at the heart of my practice. My training covers several traditions: classical Chinese acupuncture, Dr Tung, Dr Teh-fu Tan and Dr Mukaino acupuncture, abdominal acupuncture and acu-lifting. This diversity allows me to adapt the treatment to each person rather than apply a single protocol.
Depending on your needs, I complement sessions with other Chinese medicine techniques:
- Tuina massage, to release muscle tension and restore the flow of energy
- Cupping, to relieve pain and muscle contractures
- Gua Sha, to stimulate circulation and loosen tight areas
A recognised practice
I am accredited by the EMR (Swiss Register for Complementary Medicine) and the ASCA (Swiss Foundation for Complementary Medicine). In addition to training in Chinese medicine, these quality labels require solid training in basic medical knowledge (anatomy, physiology, pathology) as well as regular continuing education. They also allow sessions to be covered by most supplementary health insurance plans, depending on your policy.
What matters to me
That you feel heard, that your symptoms are relieved, and that the results last.
How I work
The first consultation lasts 60 to 90 minutes.
It isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.
In Chinese medicine, diagnosis always comes before treatment. Taking the pulse at the three Chinese positions, observing the tongue, discussing your symptoms, your sleep, your digestion and your history — all of this builds a clinical picture. Two people with the same symptom may receive entirely different treatments. That is what makes this medicine effective, and what makes every session personal.
Many tools, one goal
My training in several acupuncture traditions lets me choose the technique best suited to your situation, rather than sticking to a single protocol. Acupuncture, Tuina, moxibustion, cupping: each session combines whatever is relevant for you that day.
Complementary, not alternative
I work alongside your ongoing medical treatment, never against it. If your situation calls for it, I will tell you frankly — including when Chinese medicine is not the best answer at that moment.
Honest follow-up
From the first session, I tell you how many sessions are reasonably needed and what you can expect from them. The goal is for you to feel better — not to build an endless course of treatment.
Training & accreditations
Solid training, continually enriched
A graduate of the Liang Shen Institute, I completed four years of initial training in the fundamental theory of Chinese medicine, supplemented by numerous clinical placements. Learning doesn’t stop with a diploma: I continue my education with Chengdu University, one of the leading institutions in Traditional Chinese Medicine, so that I can always offer the care best suited to each person and situation.
